Sean Wu, MD, PhD, has been named an Endowed Faculty Scholar of the Child Health Research Institute and the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health at Stanford
The Stanford Cardiovascular Institute is pleased to announce that Sean Wu, MD, PhD, has been selected by the Child Health Research Institute (CHRI) and the Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health (LPFCH) as a member of its newest class of Endowed Faculty Scholars.
The CHRI/LPFCH Endowed Faculty Scholars are selected from a competitive application process where the candidates are evaluated based on their commitment to improving the health of children through innovative research and/or comprehensive clinical care. Dr. Wu's proposal entitled "Cardiac progenitor cells in development and disease" seeks to identify novel drugs that enhances myocardial regeneration in children with congenital heart disease. His appointment to this position shall enable him to fullfil the promise to create and translate new biomedical discoveries into meaningful advances in children's health.
The newest class of Endowed Faculty Scholars are appointed to a five-year term, beginning September 1, 2013 and ending August 31, 2018 with annual funding support of $100K direct cost to support meritorious scholarship and research activities related to innovation in child health.
