Stanford Cardiovascular Institute encompasses a wide range of adult and pediatric patient care and research activities in the clinical, basic and translational sciences. Institute scientists and clinicians are working together to develop and deliver new therapies to better meet the needs of patients afflicted with cardiovascular disease.

U.S. News and World Report consistently ranks Stanford adult and pediatric cardiac services among the top ten nationwide and number one in the West. Lucile Packard Children's Hospital/Stanford University Hospital provides clinical services to more than 250,000 patients annually through Stanford University Medical Center . Many Stanford faculty and clinicians are involved in patient care at the Palo Alto Veterans Affairs Health Care System .   Stanford delivers compassionate and cutting-edge preventive, diagnostic, and therapeutic services to patients in the coronary care unit, inpatient cardiology service, cardiovascular clinic, cardiac catherization and interventional laboratories, echocardiography laboratory, electrophysiology laboratory, and cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) service.
