Francois Haddad, MD, to Lead CVI Biomarker and Phenotype Core Laboratory

The CVI is pleased to announce that Francois Haddad, MD, will lead the CVI Biomarker and Phenotype Core Laboratory. The objectives of the new Core Laboratory will be to facilitate biomarker research in cardiovascular disease and to provide core service for the imaging evaluation on cardiac function, arterial stiffness, and endothelial function.

Francois completed his MD training in Montreal University with honors in 1998 and his cardiology fellowship at the Montreal Heart Institute. He then completed a 2 year fellowship in cardiovascular imaging followed by 2 year fellowship in heart failure, heart transplantation and pulmonary hypertension at Stanford University. He is a member of the American Heart Association (AHA) Organizing Committee and the World Health Organization (WHO) Task Force on Right Ventricular Physiology and setting a core laboratory for multicenter studies on pulmonary hypertension and heart failure.

Francois works closely with many colleagues within the Stanford CVI already. He will foster stronger collaborative ties with the Institute of Immunity, Transplantation, and Infection (ITI) led by Mark Davis and with the Human Immune Monitoring Core (HIMC) led by Holden Maecker. The new Core Laboratory will be meeting biweekly to discuss novel initiatives in biomarker research related to clinical cardiovascular projects.
