Feb 2007 - Third annual SCVI member retreat and poster session 2/9-10; attended by over 130 people
- SCVI Young Investigator award competition held at retreat poster session.

May 2006 - Second Institute member retreat held 5/12-13 at the Schwab Residential Center. 70 attend
- SCVI seed grant winners present their project work at the retreat
Feb 2006 - Five CVI $50,000 seed grant awarded to CVI collaborative teams
Jan 2006 - SCVI Seminar speaker 1/13: Nanette Wenger, MD, Emory University, “Coronary
Heart Disease in Women 2006.” 3:00 PM, Clark Auditorium
- First community event 1/13 promoting women’s cardiovascular health
Nanette Wenger, MD “Coronary Prevention: A Partnership Between Women and Their Doctors”
- Cardiomyopathy Working Group established a first-of-it-kind, IRB-approved tissue bank
of adult and pediatric heart failure patients, including database and IT structure,
hired a dedicated technician to amass high quality blood and tissue samples for
genetic research and analysis
- Began developing a specialized program: Women's Heart Health at Stanford
2005
Nov 2005 - Open Mic event 11/14 for presentations of interdisciplinary research by
post-doctoral students (upcoming AHA presentations and others)
Oct 2005 - Institute receives 23 proposals in response to interdisciplinary RFP for three seed grants
Sept 2005 - Institute Scholarly Concentration debuts: Cardiovascular-Pulmonary Sciences, Med 223
with Wednesday weekly lecture and lunch
