CVI Seed Grants Request for Proposals
Deadline November 2, 2012, 5pm

The CVI Seed Grants provide funding for innovative research. These awards are intended to bring together new collaborative groups that can address high-risk, high-reward questions from a variety of perspectives, applying new techniques and methods to cardiovascular-related problems. The CVI also seeks to support translational technologies that may require funds to address specific areas of development in order to move along a path to commercialization.

Proposals will be reviewed by CVI faculty, and grants of unrestricted funds will be made to top-scoring proposals. Funding levels are not specified, investigators are encouraged to ask for what they need. However, previous funding levels have been in the range of $25 - $50K. Note that patient-oriented clinical work requiring larger funding amounts will be considered with appropriate budget justification.

Deadline: Friday, November 2, 2012, 5:00 pm

Areas of Focus
The CVI supports research across all cardiovascular areas, emphasizing cardiac, vascular and pulmonary development and disease. Proposals addressing all aspects of cardiovascular disease will be considered. Of particular interest are projects that invoke innovative approaches and have translational potential.

Note: Proposals that address pediatric concerns will be assessed separately, as funds are reserved specifically for projects in this area.

Funding Levels
Proposals will be supported at levels appropriate to the work described, funds permitting.
